Laura Marie (Haines) Carter

Laura Carter, 62, of Newport, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at her home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Rev. Jimmy Mercer officiating. Attendees are asked to wear pink instead of the traditional black to honor Laura.
She was employed at Wal-Mart for almost 27 years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She will be remembered for being outgoing, candid and dependable.
She is survived by her mother, Dorene Haines; daughter, Bethany Morton and husband Mark of Newport; sons, Brian Carter and wife Abigail of Raleigh and Brandon Carter and wife Heather of Newport; sister, Cheryl Potts; brothers, Russell Haines, Buddy Haines and Skippy Haines; grandchildren, Ashley, Emilie, Brooklyn, Madelyn, Chloe, Emma, Ariel and Jasmine.
She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 35 years, Gary Carter; and her father, Russell Haines.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
