Larrye Nels Norlin

Larrye Nels Norlin, 76, of Newport, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manley B. Rose, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Larrye served his country for 15 years in the USMC, he was a Vietnam veteran. He earned the rank of Staff Sgt. He was also employed as a Correction Officer for NC Department of Corrections, working at the prison in Newport, and the last three years of his life he worked at the Station Club.

He is survived by eight children Todd Norlin and wife Cindy of Connecticut, Sherry Quinell and husband Joe of Sidney, MT, Bob Norlin Tillimoney and significant other Trish of Montana, Stephen Norlin Tillimoney and wife Denise of Montana, Irvina Lawrence of Beaufort, NC, Reva Styron and husband Rex of Cedar Island, NC, Vickie Baysden and husband Lee of Zebulon, NC, and Lynn Lewis of Newport, NC; grandchildren J.R. Merrill, Greg Quinell, Shawn Lewis, Corey Lewis, Adam Lawrence, Lisa Redgrave, Herbie Baysden, Jay Baysden, Matt and Tyler Norlin, Chantz, Megan, and Shelby Tillimoney; seven great grandchildren; one sister Vickie Kline and husband Terry of Sidney, MT; one brother Edward Norlin and wife Joann of Powell, WY; many nieces and nephews; and his loving companion, his yellow lab "Duke".

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Patricia Ann Norlin, parents Victor and Minnie Norlin, a brother Dean Norlin, a grandson Michael Quinell, and a son-in-law Manley Lawrence.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
