Larry M. Cannon, 81, of Morehead City, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Cannon, along with his brother Ross and their father, Asa Cannon, owned and operated Cannon Boat Works in Morehead City for 37 years. He developed and operated Dutch Treat Mobile Home Park. He was a member of Ocean Masonic Lodge # 405 for 52 years, serving as Master in 1995. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite and shrine for 25 years.

Services will be held 11:00 am Friday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mance Cason officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Clarissa Cannon; daughter, Barbara Miller and husband Vance of Morehead City; son, Ronnie Cannon and wife Patricia of Morehead City; two step-sons, John Piner and wife Kim and Steve Piner and wife Wendy, all of Huntsville, AL; brother, Ross Cannon and wife Juanita of Newport;grandchildren, Vance Miller II and Cacey Cannon, 7 step-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Joshua, Jena, Michelle, Melissa and Matthew and one step-grandchild, Emma Rose.

The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
