Kitty Stephenson, 64, of Carteret County, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Carteret Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. David Harper. Friends are welcome to attend the service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Kitty was born on October 24, 1956, in Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late John and Mary Scoggins.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Berger and husband Nicholas Culpepper of Newport; sons, John Berger of Hubert and Ronnie Stephenson and wife Erica Utley of Havelock; sisters, Donnie, Mary Joe, Jean, and Cherry; and grandchildren, Tyler Stephenson, Caleb Stephenson, Ataraha Stephenson, Johne Wyatt Berger, James Colton Berger, Skylar Rider, Charlie Garner, Dede Huber, and Geoffrey Huber.
