Kimberly Brady Kromka, 61 years young. Kim traded in her pancreatic cancer for a very positive faithful attitude and was welcomed to heaven by Jesus on August 24, 2020. Born in Raleigh, NC to John and Lynda Brady on April 3, 1959, Kim grew up in Jackson, NC horseback riding in the country and spending family summers on Gaston Lake. She graduated from North Hampton County High School in 1977. Kim made Carteret County her home for the last 40 years, arriving as a young bride to Pine Knoll Shores, NC.
She is survived by her mother Lynda Geanes, two beautiful children Ivey Kromka, Eamon Kromka, and wife Diana, grandchildren Trinity, Eleanor and Naeco Kromka, husband Ray Vance Hopper, brothers Kevin and Johnny and sister Jane Brady, as well as many special girlfriends and friends.
Kim’s favorite role in life was being Yaya to her grandchildren. Horseback riding, cooking, beaching, reading, sailing, playing at every playground they passed and sleepovers with her grandchildren brought her ultimate happiness. She fostered self confidence, hard work, positive attitude, girl power and perseverance as a mother to her children and to the many young people she was so fortunate to mentor. She truly felt that all of these young people were put in her path by God.
Kim loved passionately, worked hard, and has gracefully served her community and those she loved as a domestic goddess with food, wine and fellowship. She was greatly fulfilled by her work, and the way she loved people should serve as inspiration for how we should all care for one another. Please break bread and taste wine in celebration of her life and your own! Toast that there is eternity beyond this sweet breath of life.
1 Peter 4: 8-10
Above all keep loving one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
Celebration of life will be held at One Harbor Church in Morehead City at 4 o’clock pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Followed by a reception to receive friends and family at Jack’s Waterfront Bar on the private 2nd floor from 5 pm - 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers Kim would like for you to pass on love and kindness to someone at every opportunity.
A Special Note of Thanks
As I face the end of my blessed life, I am so grateful for all the support of the community, friends, family and my Aqua family. Thank you for the magnificent celebration of my life, hosted February 16, 2020 at Aqua. Everyone's love and generosity still keeps coming in and has enabled me to live this last few months of my life very well. Every prayer, every card, every gift, thought and visit has been a blessing. I have loved my life, it has been beyond fulfilled, and now I will soon be departing for heaven. Thank you for all the love that you have shown me.
Cheers,
Kimberly Brady Kromka
