Kenneth Rohloff
April 18, 1939 — November 6, 2015
Kenneth Rohloff, 76, of Newport passed away Friday November 6, 2015 at Croatan Ridge Nursing Facility.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He played Basketball at North Carolina State for four years and was a team Captain his senior year, then went on to play professional Basketball with St. Louis Hawks for a short time. He was the South East division manager for Starkist Foods for many years. He then worked for Georgia Pacific, until he became a Boat Captain here on the Coast. Ken enjoyed his family, friends, sports and saltwater fishing.
He is survived by his wife Doris Rohloff of the home; one daughter, Kathy Russell and husband Buddy of Newport; three grandchildren, Kelsey and Kenley Russell both of Newport and Bailey Rohloff of Louisiana; half- brother Chuck Brown of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Schearn Rohloff; one son, William “Bill” Rohloff.
