Kenneth A. Magel

Kenneth A. Magel, 88, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024.

A memorial service to honor Kenneth's life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 7th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC. A private inurnment will take place at First Presbyterian Church.

Kenneth was born in Braddock, PA, and resided in Forest Hills, PA. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his BA and worked at Westinghouse Electric in Cheswick, PA. When he retired, he spent his time in Pine Knoll Shores and Morehead City, NC, and then in North Chesterfield, VA. He loved his children, grandchildren, cars, boating, and the Food Network.

He is survived by his wife, Edy René Magel, daughter Patti Martino (John Martino), son Keith Magel (Rebecca Magel), grandson Aaron Magel (Lauren Magel), granddaughter Haley Magel, and great-grandson Trevor Wayne Magel.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mabel Bunt and father Arthur Magel. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or the Carteret County Domestic Violence Program.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Virginia Cancer Institute, Dr. Thomas Weart and Dr. Kevin Harrison.
