Kenneth Paul Higgins, Sr.

Kenneth Paul Higgins, Sr., 71, of Havelock, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Carolina East Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, officiated by Reverend Jim Daub. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth retired from the United States Marine Corp after 21 years of faithful service.  He enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, playing golf, watching NASCAR and he loved to play Canasta. But most of all, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Higgins, of the home; son, Kenneth Paul Higgins, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Edward Higgins and wife, Sharon, of Adams Center and Skip Higgins and wife, Dottie, of Black River.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Pauline Higgins; sisters, Grace Fortin, Julie Lester and Mary Kidder; and brother, Nicholas Carter Higgins, Jr.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Heart Association at 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
