Ken Corwin, 80, of Bettie, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Crystal Bluffs.
Mr. Corwin was a charter member of South Banks Community Church in Morehead City. He retired from cherry Point after over 20 years of service as an aircraft mechanic. He also was an aircraft mechanic at Beaufort Airport and was an aircraft historian. All the way up to his declining health, he was still learning about aircraft. He was a veteran and served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
A memorial gathering will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at South Banks Community Church, Chelcie Place, 5720-A Hwy 70, Morehead City.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Corwin; daughter, Sharon Dean of the home; son, Bernie Corwin of Otway; six grandchildren, Caroline Corwin of Williston, Christian "Cricket" Corwin of Bettie, Angela Archbell of Raleigh, Timothy Dean of Rocky Mount, Dawn Mason of Beaufort and Lori McDonald of TN and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Lillous Owens, step-son, Jack Corwin and a great granddaughter, Bailey Mason.
