Kendalyn Rose Lewis, 18, of Gloucester, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
Her funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City with Rev. Tommy Wilcockson officiating. Interment will follow at the Wade Cemetery in Smyrna.
Kendalyn graduated from East Carteret High School where she was a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and FFA. She also played on the girls’ Softball, Volleyball, and Basketball team. She was currently enrolled in the cosmetology program at Carteret Community College where she was on the Presidents List.
Kendalyn also played in multiple travel softball teams as well as Babe Ruth All Star teams. She loved deer and duck hunting, taking photos, and her animals. Kendalyns pride and joy was her Chevy Truck and her Camaro.
She is survived by her parents, Kenny Lewis, Jr. and Lynda Gaskill Lewis of the home; sister, Kendra Lewis of Stacy; maternal grandmother, Eleanor S. Gaskill of Stacy; paternal grandparents, James Kenneth Lewis, Sr. and Mary S. Lewis of Smyrna; aunts, Lisha Gillikin, Laura Ann Freeman and husband John, Leena Wells and husband Jeffrey; and uncles, Eldridge Franklin Gaskill and girlfriend, Allison Merkley, and William C. Lewis and fiancée, Kelly Guthrie. She is also survived by many cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Eldridge Gaskill; paternal great-grandparents, Dyon and Laura Simpson; and paternal great-great-grandparents, Dan and Mary Hill.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home.
