Katie (Willis) Herring

Katie Willis Herring died peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.
A funeral will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Ebron and Rev. Frank Basdon officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
Mrs. Herring was born November 5, 1922 to Adrian Willis and Daisy Becton Willis in Morehead City. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, one brother, grandchildren Scott Warren and Kimberly West Cummings.
Katie leaves her loving husband, Eugene Herring, son Scotty Warren, daughter Lynda Monacelli, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also step-son Elvin Herring, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Katie retired as manager of Don L's on Atlantic Beach, she was active in her church, Grace Baptist, and loved by her church family and many friends.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church 520 Roberts Rd. Newport, NC 28570.
