Karen Hansen, 48, of Newport died May 9, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Thursday at the family home.
She is survived by one son, Alijha LeBeau of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Sara Elizabeth LeBeau and Cheyanne Holbrook, both of Newport, NC; one grandson, Kaleb LeBeau, step-father, Richard Whittaker; three sisters, Christine Davis of Newport, NC, Beverly Wheeler of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sherry Hansen of Austrailia; and two brothers, Jeff Hansen of SC and Sam Hansen of Morehead City, NC.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iantha Whittaker.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation, 5121 Chalk Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
