June Appel Salter

June Appel Salter, 90, of Atlantic, passed away Thursday, June 21­, 2018 at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Terry McInnis and Reverend Ron Davies. Interment will follow at Atlantic Community Cemetery.

June was a faithful member of the Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and being a part of the F and F Club at the church. She worked for the N.C. Department of Transportation for the Ferry Division on Cedar Island. June was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Golden Lewis and husband, Dale, of Morehead City; sons, John T. Salter and wife, Carol T. Salter, of Atlantic, William A. Salter and wife, Cheryl P. Salter, of New Bern, Kim L. Salter and wife, Margie Salter, of Atlantic, Glen F. Salter of Atlantic; grandchildren, Sonny Golden, Lisa Golden, Michelle Morton, Gregory Salter, Tracy Frank, Kathryn Landry, Matthew Salter, Gentry Salter, Bethany Salter, Kailyn Salter, Jacob Salter, Johnny Salter, Melissa Salter, Megan Martinez; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by husband, John L. Salter and parents, George Appel and Violet Morrone.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Atlantic Missionary Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Marnie Willis and Lisa Daniels for being loving care givers to June.
