Judy Pohoresky

Judith Willis Pohoresky, 80, of Newport, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Carteret Health Care.

A memorial service will be held at Broad Creek Church of God on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with Reverend Robbie Strickland officiating.

Judy was born in The Promise Land of Morehead City to Gertrude Lewis Willis and Claude William Willis on May 27, 1936. She went to high school at Morehead City High School and graduated in 1954. She moved to Newport in 1969.

She is survived by her children, Debra Tobin Raines, and her husband Ron of Kinston, NC, Daniel “Buddy” Tobin of Jacksonville, NC, Susan Tobin of Puerto Rico, and Lorrie Pohoresky Raines and husband Buzz of Newport, NC; sister, Gloria Willis Lukenbaugh of Newport, NC; step-children Willie Pohoresky and wife Cathy of Newport, NC, Debra Pohoresky Tabuchi also of Newport, NC, and David Pohoresky of Richlands, NC. She was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Pohoresky; mother, Gertrude Willis; father, Claude Willis; sister, Patsy Willis Fowler; brother, Terry Willis; and sister, Claudia Willis Salter

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
