Judith "Judy" Moran, 73, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center.
A memorial service to honor Judy’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 9th at Parkview Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. John Carswell. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Judy was born on January 13, 1951, in Newburyport, Massachusetts to the late John and Dorothy Baptist. She will be fondly remembered for her outgoing and kind personality. Her warm hospitality was seen over the years as she opened her home to friends and family, creating cherished moments through shared meals and fun entertainment. Christmas held a special place in Judy's heart, evident in her generous spirit, festive decorations, and the countless memories she created for her loved ones.
In her leisure time, Judy enjoyed visiting the shore and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her friends were a great support and comfort over the years. She was always ready for quality time spent with them or a fun outing especially if it was going out to eat. Judy adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment she spent with them. Her love for children extended to the many students at Morehead Primary School where she worked as a teacher’s assistant.
A devoted partner for 47 years, Judy was a loving wife to her beloved Philip. She leaves behind a legacy as an exceptional mother, supportive sister, and proud grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her sons, Philip J. Moran (Bonnie) of Newport, and Matthew D. Moran (Kelli) of Havelock; brothers, David Baptist (Susan) of Swansboro and Garry Baptist of New Bern; and grandchildren, Sidney C. Bohmuller, Sarah L. Moran, Kelsey N. Moran, and Matthew David Moran Jr.; and great-grandson, Lucas.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her of over 47 years, Philip Moran who passed away in March of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carteret County Humane Society in memory of her love of animals.
