Juanita (Winberry) Newkirk
April 4, 1926 — April 5, 2015
Juanita Winberry Newkirk, 89, Mill Creek, passed away, April 5, 2015 at her home surrounded by family on Easter Sunday, one day after her 89th birthday.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Randall officiating. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Church Cemetery.
Juanita was an active lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church. She loved to quilt and embroider. She helped her husband, opening oysters and heading shrimp, and always made family a priority and was appreciated for her large dinners.
She is survived by four daughters, Frances Clements and husband Herbert, Barbara Forrest and husband Connie, Georgia Newkirk, and Anita Gray all of Mill Creek; son, David T. Newkirk and wife Renata of Mill Creek; sister, Johnise Culpepper of Mill Creek; also 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, George Thomas Newkirk; parents, Arby and Maggie Winberry; daughter, Rhonda Trombley; and grandson, David Alan Clements.
The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
