J.T. "Tom" Morgan

J.T. “Tom” Morgan, 87, of Havelock, passed away Monday, July 1­, 2019, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro after a long battle with cancer.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by a family friend, Mike Hearne. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 688 in Havelock. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, retired from Lockheed Aircraft after 33 years. He had a unique sense of humor and a heart of gold. He enjoyed a tranquil life living on the creek in Harlowe.

He is survived by his son, John Morgan and wife Mandy of Wilmington; sister, Edith J. Carter of Wooster, AR; and grandson, Taj “ Skateboard” Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Gerrie Morgan; parents, John and Edith Morgan; and a brother, Jerry Dean Morgan.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
