Joyce Hairr Kennedy

Joyce Hairr Kennedy, 89, of Beaufort, passed away Wednesday, February 27­, 2019, at the Lighthouse Village Assisted Living Facility in Jacksonville.

Her memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. John Carswell.

Mrs. Kennedy was a wonderful Christian woman who was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Morehead City. She was also a member of the Pilot Club of Carteret County where she was instrumental in bringing Project Lifeline to Carteret County. Mrs. Kennedy retired as an LPN Nurse, her skill and care for others touched many lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy H. Dudley and husband Francis of Sea Level; step-son, Jay Kennedy of Maitland, FL; sister, Ann Marler of Belews Creek; brother, Ted Burnette of Franklin; grandchildren, Sheree Bergin, John Neal Dudley, Aby Morris, Justin Dudley, Tonya George, Hannah Kennedy and Kathryn Kennedy; and great-grandchildren, Gerald, Nikolas, Kyra, Callin and Jayson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse M. Hairr; second husband, Raymond F. Kennedy, Sr.; parents, Grade and Mary Burnette; sister, Cherry Beard; and brother, Jack Burnette.
