At Mrs. Smetana’s request, no formal services are planned.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Nicely of Morehead City, NC; son, Charles E. Smetana, Jr. of Clayton, NC; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald Smith of Lexington, NC, and John Smith of Goldsboro, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any charity beneficial to Alzheimers research.
