Joshua Champion, 34, died February 14, 2015, at his home in Newport NC.
Josh was born March 6, 1981, in Warrensburg, Missouri to Julia Champion and Raymond Yancey.
He attended Absegami and Salem High School in New Jersey. Josh served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Josh was a member of Carpenters Union 623.
Josh was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and entertaining his friends! Josh never met a stranger and lived life with gusto! He loved to make everyone smile and would do anything for anyone. He was a very kind hearted man. He loved his family, friends and his sons with all his heart.
Josh was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Frances and Charles Schlue, and paternal grandparents Glen and Betty Yancey.
He is survived by his children, Alex Champion (14), Isaac Chambers (12) and William Champion (5), his mother, Julia Champion of Newport, NC, his father, Raymond Yancey of Birmingham Al, his sisters, Nicole Heckman of French Creek WV, Megan Seaton of Birmingham Al, his brother Gage Yancey of Columbia SC and several nieces.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Wimberg Funeral Home in Galloway New Jersey Saturday February 20, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00pm.
A private graveside burial will follow. Josh’s final resting place will be at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor, New Jersey.
