Josephine "Jo" Baranoski

Josephine “Jo” Baranoski, 91, of Newport, passed away Saturday, July 14­, 2018, at Carteret Health Care.

Jo was born in Ireland and moved to the United States of America as an adult. She married Walter Felix Baranoski, a World World II Veteran, and became a naturalized citizen. They settled in Chicago where she worked as a clerk with World Book Encyclopedia. She later moved to Newport where she lived for almost 29 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Baranoski of Newport, Maureen McCarragher of Antioch, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Felix Baranoski; son, Bruce Baranoski; parents, Patrick and Minnie Murphy; sisters, Pat, Rose, Eileen, Anna; and brother, Eddie.
