Josephine Justice

Josephine Justice, 83, of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

“JoJo” was born on November 29, 1940, in Jonesville, North Carolina, to the late Odell and Emma Lee Spann. She was a compassionate woman who dedicated her life to her family and showered them with unconditional love and support. Josephine's fondest joy in life was being a devoted mother and a doting grandmother.

Jo had a giving heart and enjoyed volunteering at both the Clothes Closet Ministry at First Baptist Church in Smithfield, NC and at the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.

Jo had a zest for life and embraced every moment she was given. She had a passion for college basketball and could often be found eagerly cheering on her favorite teams. She found joy and happiness in the beauty of nature, whether it be the peacefulness of the beach or the majestic view of the mountains.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Renee Wooters and Wayne Justice, and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Fischer, and Sailor.

The family will celebrate her life privately.
