Joseph H. "Jack" Smith, III

Mr. Joseph Henry Smith III (Jack) of Emerald Isle, North Carolina formerly of Petersburg, Virginia died September 7, 2013 at his home.
Jack was preceded in death by his "Bride" of 58 years, Anne Fulghum Smith, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Smith, Jr., and his brother, William Beach Smith.
Jack is survived by his son Mr. Joseph Henry Smith, IV of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; daughters, Miss Martha Fulghum Smith of Petersburg, Virginia and Miss Anne Katherine Smith of Richmond, Virginia; grandson, Joseph Henry Smith V of Ashville, N.C.; nephews, Thomas Fulghum Nunnally of Emerald Isle, N.C., William Hale Nunnally of Washington, N.C. and Samuel David Nunnally.
The family wishes to extend special appreciation to Carteret County Hospice nurse Robin Lingle.
The family and church will conduct a memorial service at St. Peter’s By -The- Sea in Swansboro, N.C. on Friday, September 13th at 1:00 p.m. with Father Bert Eaton officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Peter’s By the Sea, 503 W. Broad St, Swansboro, N.C. 28584 or to Hospice of Carteret County, PO Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
