J. Wade Narron

Morehead City

J. Wade Narron, 84, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Havelock.

A funeral service to honor Wade’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 27th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Billy Knox. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 26th at Munden Funeral Home. A graveside service be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 28th at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.

Wade was born on November 21, 1940, in Selma, NC, to the late Garfield and Ruth Narron. He dedicated a significant part of his life to serving the community through his long and successful career with the DMV Enforcement of North Carolina. He was a proud member of the Oceanic Masonic Lodge #405 and was also a past member of the Law Enforcement Officer’s Club.

Wade's hobbies reflected his vibrant personality; he took great pride in his yard and enjoyed gardening. He loved to barbecue and prepared great meals for his loved ones. A passionate NASCAR enthusiast, Wade was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt, watching races whenever possible. In his retirement years, he was well entertained with game shows, often spending 16 hours a day hooked on the next big win.

Above all, Wade was a devoted husband for 46 years, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughters, Dana Narron Willis (Richard Holden) and Sheri Narron Rose (David Ison), all of Havelock, NC; sister, Evelyn Strickland (David) of Selma; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brooke Fulp (Cameron Favreau), James Gordon Willis III, Parker Wade Rose, Riley Shaun Rose, and Sophie Nicole Rose; great-grandchildren, Kelly Fulp and Chase Fulp; and grand pups, Moose and Gypsy. 

In addition to his parents, Wade was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shelby Sandlin Narron; and brother, Roy Narron.
