Joseph Hilliard Morgan, 86, of Bettie, passed away Wednesday, February 6­, 2019, at his home.

His memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Middlesex Church of God at 5407 NC-231, Middlesex, NC 27557, officiated by Pastor Mark Ingram and Pastor Pam Blank.

He is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Thompson and husband Tim, Barbie Dawn Lawrence and  companion Richard Wade, Gina Moody and husband David; grandchildren, Michelle Jones and companion Duran Deans, Dwaine Jones and wife Mandy, Jonathan Moody, Trinity Lawrence and companion Eric Lesley, Tracy Collins and companion Chris Tatum, Joshua Moody and wife Leigh Anne, Tiffany Boyd; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Garrett, Tyler, Kristian, Bryson, Caiden, Brianna, Dei, Trista, Dayton, Grant, Layla, Harleigh, and Crista; great-great-grandchild, Nicholas; step-children, Bobbie English, Billy English, Bonnie Phillips, Christine McPherson and husband Craig, Jason Anderson and wife Brooke; step-grandchildren, Chad English, Candace Sheremeta, Cameron Phillips, Caitlyn Dale, Keaton McPherson, Shelby Martinez; step-great-grandchildren, Nathan, Alexis, TJ, Adam, Kohen; special friends, Cherie and Norm Pelton; special sister, Bonnie Perry and husband Raymond; special friend, Pat Fowler; special animal friends, Taz and Hannah Thompson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances English Morgan and wife, Barbara Anderson Morgan; parents, Ruby and Lee Vester Morgan; daughter, Cora Cone; son, Billy Dwaine Morgan; sisters, Betty Lou Pearce, Shelby Jean Mosley; brother Elmer Lee Morgan; great-grandchildren, Caleb Jones and Zada Bug Lawrence.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Middlesex Church of God.
