Joseph D. Espiritu

Joseph Espiritu, 52, of Havelock, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Carolina East Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, officiated by Deacon Wally Callabrese.  Friends are welcome to attend the service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Additionally, there will be a limit to the number of people in the building at one time, as well, those who attend will be asked to bring and wear a protective mask. Joseph was born on July 4, 1968, in the Philippines, to the late Avelino and Aurora Espiritu. He worked in civil service at Cherry Point East for 5 years as a sheet metal mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Espiritu of the home; sons, Joseph C. Espiritu and wife Princess of Tampa, FL and Jeffrey Espiritu of California; sisters, Chorry E. Jennewein of Newport and Marilyn D. Swann of Havelock; and grandson, Joseph Alexander Espiritu of Tampa, FL.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock. The same safety guidelines will apply.
