Johnny Lee Whaley, Sr. 75, of Mill Creek, passed away, Friday May 22, 2015 at Carteret General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Reece' s Chapel with Rev. James Chadwick, Rev. Doug Randall, and Rev. John Paul Varner officaiting.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Whaley of the home; daughter, Angela Lea Whaley, and companion Paul Coon of High Point NC., and Nancy Varner and husband John of Newport; son, Johnny Lee Whaley Jr. and wife Candi of Newport; brother, Hugh Whaley, Jr and wife Mary of Newport; three sisters, Frances Lilly of Mill Creek, Mary Dowdy and husband Gus of Mill Creek, and Brenda Harvey and husband Jack of Killeen TX.; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert H. Whaley, Sr. and Nettie Culpepper Whaley by his brothers Early Whaley of Beaufort and Richard Whaley of Mill Creek and one sister Florine Hardesty of Mill Creek.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
