Johnnie Alinda "Gerock" Shoemaker went to be with the Lord, from her home, on November, 28th, 2012.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Wakefield officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born October 16th, 1949 to John and Wilda Wetherington. Her father John died when she was only 4..Her mother Wilda Gray remarried to Willam H. Gerock who later adopted her. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gregory L. Shoemaker, daughters Sherry Lynn Shoemaker, Michelle van der Meulen, and husband Will van der Meulen. Grandchilden Sarah Beth and Eason van der Meulen, Karlie and Katie Shoemaker, Sister Cheryl Ann and husband David Graves and nephews Darin, Glen, and Bryan Graves.
She is preceded in death by Little John Wetherington; her birth father, her mother and father Wilda and Harold Gerock. Her son, Willam Gregory David Shoemaker and her brother William (Bill) Gerock.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Munden Funeral Home.

Any Donations should be given to Emmanuel Baptist Church Youth Group at 120 Bell St. Cedar Point, NC 28584.
