John Van Dyke, 91, of Ocean, died Wednesday March 13, 2013 at Carteret General Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Gethsemane Memorial Park with Rev. Ken Bartholomew officiating.
John served in the US Coast Guard during WWII, and was stationed at Fort Macon.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Elsie Van Dyke of the home: several nieces and nephews: and special friends Richard Baylis, Patricia and Rodney Harper, Dan McGee, the Carter family, and many more dear friends, and neighbors.
The family will receive friends following the service at their home 416 J. Bell Ln. Newport, NC 28570.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Carteret County PO Drawer 1619 Morehead City, NC 28557.
