John W. Rose, 60, of Newport, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
The family will conduct a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Captain's Roster on the Morehead City Waterfront.
Mr. Rose was very active in AA, and he was a former boat captain for over 35 years, on several charter boats, "About Time Charter", "Flying Fish", "Rachael Romance", and "Isobelle".
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Onorio Rose of the home; daughter, Diane Rose of Bend, Oregon; step-sister, Patsy Allen Holland of Cary; step-brother, Ernest David Allen, III of Morehead City; two nephews, Joseph Rose, Jr. of Morehead City and Thomas Rose of Wilmington; niece, Kristy Rose Waters of Salter Path; and three pets, Levi, Noah, and Scooter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Dokes Rose and Isobelle Dempsey Rose, and two brothers, Joseph Kinchen Rose and James Russell Rose.
