John McLin, Jr, 73, of Battleboro, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his summer home in Atlantic Beach.
John grew up in Nashville, NC, attended Campbell college before starting a career in the tobacco business. His career spanned multiple decades and companies before retiring as a Vice President for Standard Commercial Tobacco Company. A longtime member of Roanoke Tar River Gun Club (Big Field). He also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a very friendly and personable man that loved to socialize.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Battleboro United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sherry Bulluck McLin; daughters, Ellen McLin Siebert of Morehead City, Susan McLin of Atlantic Beach; sister, Sylvia McLin Wilkins and husband Austin of Michigan City, IN; grandchildren, Mac Siebert, Cate Siebert, and many loving family members.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association Eastern North Carolina Chapter, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27612, in honor of his mother, Catherine McLin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John Elbert McLin and Catherine McClenney McLin
