John Maucher
August 31, 1932 — July 7, 2016
John H. Maucher, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016. He departed this world peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Jackie, by his side.
He leaves three children, three step-children and fifteen grandchildren.
Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, after graduating from High School he joined the US Marine Corps, during the Korean Conflict and proudly served his country. Upon discharge and an apprenticeship, he became a construction pipefitter with Local Union 74, holding leadership positions and traveling throughout the county to construct large projects including instrumentals and fittings for nuclear power plants.
After retiring, in 1995 he and Jackie relocated from Chatham, NJ to Morehead City, NC where he was an active MGA member at Brandywine Bay Golf Club. He was an avid reader and loved fishing. He spent many good times during his life at the Jersey Shore and Fort Macon beach.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
