John Fredrick Lundt, 71, of Havelock, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at N.C. State Veterans Home in Kinston.

A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2005 Arendell Street, Morehead City, N.C.

John was employed as Maintenance Director at Britthaven of Havelock from 1997 thru 2010.  He enjoyed fresh water fishing, prospecting for precious metals and spending time with his family.

John grew up in the small southwestern town of Ajo, Arizona and following graduation from high school, he relocated to Glenwood Springs, Colorado.  While in Colorado, in 1965, he was drafted into the US Army for his senior trip to Vietnam.  After his return stateside, he married and raised his children in Glenwood Springs, CO.  He later returned to Arizona, living in the Phoenix area until the late 1990’s.  At that time, he moved to the crystal coast area where he has remained for the later years of his life.

John is survived by his wife, Wilma Reed Lundt of the home; daughter, Michelle Bates of Snowmass Village, CO; brother, Kenneth Lundt and wife Karlyn of Chino Valley, AZ; sister, Judy Browning of Winfield, KS; three  grandchildren, Mikayla and J.J. Bates both of Snowmass Village and Dakota Jewell of Delta, CO; great granddaughter Amyah Jewell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lundt and his parents Harvey Lundt and Lois Shelly Christenson.
