John Joseph Lohr

John Joseph Lohr, 71, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, December 19­, 2018, at his home.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. David Bratton. Interment will follow, at a later date, at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

John proudly served our country for 6 years in the United States Marine Corp. He loved Ohio State football, hunting and his dogs, Ellie and Daisy. But, above all else he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Lohr, of the home; daughter, Courtney Farrin and husband Allan of Swansboro; sons, Nathan Lohr and wife Robin of Beaufort, Nick Lohr and fiancé Nicole Mauro of Vanceboro and Christopher Gibbs and companion Landon Booth of Swansboro; sisters, Gaye Jones and husband Graham of Medford, NJ and Patty Goetz of Ohio; and grandchildren, Brianne Farrin, Hannah Farrin and Miranda Lohr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Velliquette Lohr and father, Marvin Walter Lohr.
