John Ashley Ledbetter

John Ashley Ledbetter, 62, of Beaufort, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Carteret Landing Assisted Living.

Upon his request, the family will hold a private service at a later date.

John proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and received the Humanitarian Service Medal and Pistol Sharpshooter Ribbon. He was a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and rode on numerous charity rides. John was an accomplished musician. John played the guitar and piano.

He is survived by his father, James Ingram Ledbetter of Beaufort; sister, Susan Ledbetter Shouse of Morehead City; beloved niece and nephew, Sarah Elizabeth Shouse of Cary and William Reid Shouse of Morehead City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Vann Ledbetter and brother, James Vann Ledbetter.
