John Kenneth Willis, 48, of Stacy, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 after a short battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Stacy Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Laxton Jr. and Rev. Jimmy Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Nelson Bay Cemetery in Sea Level.

John was a wonderful son, brother,uncle, and friend to all. He was a certified outboard motor mechanic for many years and then a perfectionist at tile setting with his best friend, Ben. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed Wrestling. John is reunited now with his sister "Cindy Gal" and all his other family in Heaven.

He is survived by his mother, Treva Nelson and step-father, Raymond of Stacy; father, Johnnie Willis and step-mother, Debbie of Gloucester; brothers, Daniel Willis of  Morehead City, Shaun Willis and wife Dee Dee of Gordonsville,TN , Mark Morton and wife Bethany of Newport and Lee Nelson and wife Teresa of Stacy; one sister, Teresa Lee and husband Calvin of Wallace, SC; two nephews, Travis Morgan and Logan Kreager; one niece, Becky Nelson; uncle, Danny Mason and wife Marie of Sea Level; aunt, Laura Anderson of Winter Park FL; "special son", Brandon Kyle Chandler of Morehead City, and best friend, Ben Johnson and wife Felicia of Atlantic; also his two faithful cats "Tigger and Baby Girl". and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Kreager who passed on  December 25, 2010.

The family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the church.
