John "Jack" Zdep

John “Jack” Zdep, 82, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.

A gathering of family and friends to honor Jack’s life will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., Friday, April 25th at Munden Funeral Home.

Jack was born on September 25, 1942, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, to the late Stanley and Domicella Zdep. He later settled in New Jersey where he had a long career in Radiology. Jack retired about 20-25 years ago and eventually made Morehead City his home. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A master storyteller, Jack had a gift for spinning a tale and making everyone laugh. He was just as skilled in the kitchen, his love for cooking brought people together, whether it was a big family meal or a backyard barbecue. Jack loved playing cards, always ready for a game and good conversation. He will be remembered not only for his stories, his food, and his laughter, but also for the way he made others feel, welcomed, loved, and part of something special.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joan of the home; daughter, Sandra Tinsman (James Wiater) of New Jersey; brother, William Zdep (Linda) of New Jersey; and two nieces, Jill and Gabrielle of New Jersey.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Zdep.
