John Fusaro, Jr., 93, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, February 8, at Carolina House of Morehead City.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Havlicek officiating. A reception to follow in the West Menster Fellowship Hall prior to the Interment at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Fusaro was born in Philadelphia, PA., he was employed with the Philadelphia Board of Education as a draftsman who designed the many remodelings of school buildings for the board. He retired in 1976 and soon after moved to Morehead City.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and while being stationed in the area he met his first wife, Juanita.
John was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed caring for the Facility and its members. He was also an active volunteer for the Leon Mann Senior Citizens Center. John enjoyed carpentry work and made many lifelong friends using his skills.
He is survived by his wife, Macy Fusaro of the home; two daughters, B.J. Fusaro and husband Michael Brondoli of Durham and Maggie Fusaro of Morehead City; step-daugter, Kitty Kingma and husband Dick of California; step-son, Herb Fitzgerald and wife Sylvia od Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandsons, Kenny Willard of California and Matthew Brondoli of Durham; two great-grandchildren, Ian Willard and Abby Willard.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita B. Fusaro, mother and father, Katherine and John Fusaro, Sr., and three brothers, Ralph Fusaro, Bob Fusaro and Dick Fusaro.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
