John Drake, 46, of Newport, died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Glad Tidings Church with Rev. Shad Barrow officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Drake of the home; two daughters, Jordan Cannon and Macy Cannon both of Greenville; son, Chandler Drake of the home; parents, Harold and Alma Drake of Vanceboro; sister, Wanda Drake Toler and husband Pee Wee of Ernul; and two nephews, William Toler and Jesse Toler both of Ernul.
The family will receive friends following the service at The Train Depot, 1001 Arendell St., Morehead City.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that memorial donations be made to the West Carteret Band Program, 4700 Country Club Rd, Morehead City, NC 28557.
