John Joseph Daniels, Jr.

John “Sonny” Joseph Daniels, Jr., 86, of Morehead City, NC formally of Somerville, MA, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Carteret Health Care.

John was born and raised in Massachusetts and moved to Morehead City in 2001. He was a very creative and intelligent man that enjoyed working with his hands. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be missed.

A prayer service for John be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 14, 2017 at George L. Doherty Funeral Service in Somerville, MA. Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.

John is survived; daughters, Carol Clevesy and husband Alton of Somerville, MA, Elaine Wright and husband Bruce of New Hampshire, Julie Daniels and husband Richard of Malden, MA; son, John “Jack” Joseph Daniels III and wife Carol of Morehead City; sister, Marie Hammersmith of SC; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his by his loving wife, of over 50 years, Dorothy Daniels; parents, John Joseph Daniels, Sr, and Lillian Daniels; brother, William Daniels.

Visitations for John will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Munden Funeral Home and on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at George L. Doherty Funeral Service, Somerville, MA.
