Joey Moore Piner, Sr.

Joey Moore Piner, Sr, age 53, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joey Moore was born July 19, 1962 to Jarvis and Carolyn Piner of Beaufort. He grew up in “Lennoxville” where he found his love for the water; he was an avid crabber, fisherman, and carpenter. Joey’s yearnings for the sea lead him to a career in the Menhaden Fishing industry where he chased fish from the Gulf of Mexico to the Eastern Shores. Some of his happiest times were spent aboard a Menhaden Poggy Boat.
Joey leaves behind his parents Jarvis and Carolyn Piner. Joy Bradshaw, his loving companion, care giver and soul mate of 25 years. Children, Joey Moore Piner, Jr and wife Bobbie and granddaughter Heidi, Jeremy Paul Piner and wife Wendy and grandson Jace, and JD Hammond and fiancée Amanda. Brothers Martin, Sparky, Jarvis Jr, and Ronnie. Nephews Jimmy Paul, John Patrick, Christopher Alan, Lee, and Eric. His very special niece Mary Ann Piner-Saunders. Melissa Lewis, special family friends Brenda Lynn and Alan Brooks, and all those he knew and loved.
The celebration of Joey’s life will begin with a visitation at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Munden’s Funeral Home, Morehead City, NC, followed by the service at 3:00 pm. interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
The family extends a special thanks to Hospice and their support teams for the love, care and compassion they gave to Joey and his family.
