Joel H. Becton, 67, of Merrimon, NC, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Merrimon United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Everett and Rev. Wade Bennett officiating.
Mr. Becton served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed with Carolina Telephone until retirement. He was an award winning and published photographer.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane Walker Becton; brother, Lee Becton and wife, Linda, of Linville, NC; niece, Susan Becton of Hickory, NC; nephew, Stan Becton of Charlotte, NC; special niece, Brenda Brunckhorst of Beaufort, NC; and nephew, Jay Walker of Rocky Mount, NC.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Merrimon United Methodist Church, 310 Jonaquin Creek Road, Beaufort, NC 28516.
