Jo Ann Hess Hendricks, 67, of Newport, died at home on November 15, 2009 surrounded by family and friends.
She retired in 1992 from Edison Police Department where she worked as a school crossing guard for 20 years. She was head of the kitchen at Cape Carteret Baptist Church where she was a member for the past eight years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Cape Carteret Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Clubb officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
She is survived by five children, Lisa Andreola and husband Anthony of Newport, Patricia O'Rorke and husband Tommy of Newport, Bonni Lako and husband John of Peachtree City, GA, Carl Zundel of Newport and Charles Zundel and wife Kimberly of Edison, NJ; brother, Ronald Hess and wife Judy of Madison, WI; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Hendricks.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Cape Carteret Baptist Church.
