JoAnn Beitz

JoAnn Beitz, 80, of Morehead City, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at her home.

JoAnn was born on August 14, 1940, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, to the late James and Colleen Riner. She worked as a real estate broker for over two decades. Fossil hunting and beach combing were among her favorite activities, always thrilled with her special finds. Aurora and Castle Hayne were two of her fossil hunting destinations. JoAnn loved her family, including her cat, Chloe.

She is survived by daughter, Peggy Quinn of Morehead City, son, Frank Winston Quinn Jr. of Newport; sister, Katherine Williamson and husband Jerry of Vidalia, GA; brothers, J.E. Riner and wife Sandy of Hazlehurst, GA and Roy Riner of Vidalia, GA; granddaughter, Ashley Quinn; great grandchildren, Aaron Quinn and Jase Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lt. Col. John Beitz Jr.; sister, Linda Hinnant; and grandson, Frank Quinn III.
