Jimmy Edward Cullum

Jimmy Edward Cullum, 83, of New Bern, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Cherry Point Bay Nursing Home in Havelock.

His service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022, at Crossroads Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Kevin Valeu. A visitation will be held one hour prior. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Jimmy was born in Plumerville, Arkansas on February 24, 1939, to the late Henry and Ethel Cullum. He honorably served in the National Guard for 2 years and carried on his military career in the United States Navy where he retired with over 20 years of service. Jimmy owned and operated the Cullum Dental Lab from 1977 to 2015. He was a faithful member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in New Bern where he was a Deacon and strived to help any and everyone. Jimmy had many hobbies which he avidly enjoyed, barbecuing delicious meals which included pork and turkey, he was quite the barista earning him the nickname "Mr.Coffee". Aside from that, he was a handyman, he loved working in his yard and traveling whenever he had the chance.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Cullum of the home; sons, Richard Cullum (Tanya) of Sanford, NC, Jerry Cullum (Julie Ann) of Montpelier, VA; sisters, Dorothy Kantak of Dallas, TX, LaVeda Elam of Maumelle, Ark., Kaye Miller of Roland, Ark.; brothers, Gene Cullum of Higden, Ark., Larry Cullum of Roland, Ark., Kenny Cullum of Gulfport, Miss.; grandchildren, Dalton Cullum, Lauren Sebold, Dylan Cullum, and Christian Cullum; great grandchildren, Micah Sebold and Ashton Sebold.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Crossroads Baptist Church Mission Funds at 1802 US Hwy 70 East, New Bern, NC 28560.
