Jerry R. Webster

Jerry R. Webster, 77, of Morehead City, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Crystal Bluffs Rehabilitation Center.

His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Morehead City, officiated by Pastor Powell Osteen and Pastor Patrick Whaley.  Visitation following in fellowship hall.

Jerry is a retired engineer from AT&T Bell Labs in Illinois. He is an ordained minister serving churches in Illinois.  In Morehead City, he and Ann joined First United Methodist Church where he volunteered as the Lay Shepherd Ministry Coordinator.  He was a member of numerous committees, taught a Sunday School Class and assisted the senior and associate pastors where needed. He expressed his love of music by singing in the church choir and playing trumpet in the Morehead City Sunshine Band.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Ray Webster of Morehead City; a son, Michael Webster of Morehead City; two grandsons, Clayton Webster of Stella, NC; Corey Webster of Salix, Iowa and three beautiful great granddaughters, Aubry, Raelyn and Sienna.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Myrtle Webster; a brother, David Webster.

They will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 900 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC designated for the choir/music ministry.
