Jerry D. Tapscott

Jerry D. Tapscott, 65, of Merrimon, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 26th, at Carteret Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Taylor Mills.

Jerry was born on May 2, 1957, in Burlington, North Carolina. Born the youngest of 3 children, to the late Bruce and Jean Tapscott.

Jerry is survived by his, sister, Laura Daughtry of Pikeville, NC; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wrenn Tapscott of Greenville; nieces and nephews, Elena Hope Inselmann and husband Ryan, Anthony Steve Daughtry and wife Dawn, Emily Brianne Evans and husband Jay, and David Christopher Daughtry and wife Elizabeth; great nieces and nephews, Bryen Anthony Daughtry, Aliyah Melissa Daughtry, Jocelyn Rae Evans, Abigail Rose Evans, Jeremiah Reid Evans, Cecelia Rene Evans, Charlotte Ruby Evans, Grayson Parker Inselmann and Zoe Elizabeth Inselmann; 3 cousins; and 1 uncle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward “Ed” Tapscott; and brother-in-law, Steven Daughtry.
