Jeremy "Jerry" Thomas DeRome Garnett

Jeremy “Jerry” Thomas DeRome Garnett, 71, of Morehead City, passed away Tuesday, March 5­, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center.

When Jerry was not doting over his grandchildren you could find him with a paint brush in his hand or jamming out to classic rock.  His love was painting seascapes and local landmarks.  Caring passionately about family and friends you could often find him returning to his British roots with a pint in one hand and a worldly story to tell.  He always cherished his Fort Macon adventures and stops at the ice cream shoppe with his best friend and wife, Chrissy.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Susan Garnett of the home; son, Anthony Charles DeRome Garnett and wife Christine of Morehead City; daughter, Rachel Benton and husband Michael of Wilmington; brother, Christopher James DeRome Garnett and wife Beatrice of France; and grandchildren, Kimberly, Benjamin, Abigail and Sophie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Joy Garnett and beloved dog, Twister.
