Jerald "Scotty" Humphrey

Jerald S. "Scotty" Humphrey, 78, of Newport, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at his home.
He was a graduate of Capital Radio Engineering Institute in Washington, DC. He was a born again Christian and member of Parkview Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and retired from civil service at Cherry Point.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. George Tumblin and Mr. Charles Matthews officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at the Maysville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Alderman Humphrey of the home; daughter, Gina L. Humphrey of Durham; son, David S. Humphrey and wife Beverly of New Bern; granddaughter, Virginia Humphrey of Pamlico; and great-grandchildren, Jewel Kula and Caroline Kula both of Concord , Shiloh Humphrey and Emily Humphrey both of Havelock.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Parkview Baptist Church.
