Jennifer Barnes Trujillo

Mrs. Jennifer Barnes Trujillo, 43, of Morehead City, NC, passed away on March 26, 2024. 

A memorial service to honor Jennifer’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Darrell Williams. The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., prior to the service.  For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Jennifer was born October 23, 1980, in Wilmington, NC, where she grew up and attended New Hanover County Schools. She worked at Brick Landing Plantation where she met her future husband, John Trujillo. John and Jennifer moved to Morehead City with their three daughters in 2009, where she worked at Morehead City Country Club for 15 years. A large part of Jennifer’s heart was in her work. 

In her free time, she pampered her family and friends, always putting everyone else before herself. Jennifer loved walking her beloved dog Henry No on the beach, preparing home-cooked meals, loving on her family, and cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels. She adored everyone around her and always made them feel special.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, John Trujillo of Morehead City, NC; 3 daughters, Autumn Hansen and fiancé Hunter Mills of Newport, NC, Summer Carlton of Lake Mary, Florida, and Kalyn Trujillo of Morehead City, NC; her mother, Carolyn Barnes of Wilmington, NC; sister, Karen Bourdeaux and husband Chris of Wilmington, NC; and brother, Robbie Barnes and wife Monica Barnes of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Barnes, and brother, Damon Padgett.
